In their words

What residents and parents say.

ZHANG JIAWEI, HKU student
A big advantage of Stride in Wong Chuk Hang is how convenient the transport is. You go downstairs, cross one road and you are at the MTR station, under a three minute walk. HKU is six stops away, about a 30 minute commute. The rooms are well designed too: the singles, doubles and triples are all neatly squared off, with plenty of storage while still protecting each resident’s privacy. The bathrooms are bright and spacious, like a hotel. The rooms feel much roomier than some student housing in Central and Western or in Kowloon. Overall, for an HKU student who wants to live on Hong Kong Island, it is absolutely the best value choice.

I found Stride through my university’s off-campus accommodation support page. After an online viewing, I got my first glimpse of what is now my beautiful room. It has a spacious workspace, lovely views, and, most importantly, thoughtful details such as the charger and small light beside the bed, as well as the privacy boards. It is these small details that make me feel Stride genuinely cares about providing for students and making us feel truly comfortable. It feels as though they understand how challenging it can be to begin a new chapter in our lives, and they have made sure we have a place where we can feel settled, secure, and at home. A comfortable living environment is such an important part of our overall wellbeing, especially as students. I am so happy I found Stride, and even happier that Stride welcomed me as part of its community.

Audrey, HKU student
I chose to live in Stride because I find this place really convenient. The South Island line MTR nearby makes it easy for me to reach HKU and the rest of the city. On top of that, I have been meaning to discover a new side of Hong Kong that is less busy. I am really interested in the converted warehouses that are now home to galleries, cafes and design studios. Many of my friends live nearby in Jockey Club Student Village IV, so choosing Stride meant I could stay close to that community while living independently.

My child’s previous dorm was cramped and unhygienic, so we looked at many places and finally chose Stride. The double room is far more spacious, with a big desk and a side cabinet, and every bed has its own lamp and charging socket. Their favourite part is the fully separate wet and dry bathroom with its own shower stall, so rare in a dorm. The shared spaces surprised us most: not just a gym, study room and laundry, but a music room, game room, BBQ area and kitchen. My child loves music and fitness, so we booked on the spot.
Mr. Yip, parent of a resident
I arrived in Hong Kong quite late, when dorms were already tight. I ran around everywhere, until I walked into Stride. I loved the single room the moment I saw it: bright, spotless and with a lovely view. The commute to Cyberport and HKU is very manageable. Amid so much uncertainty, this place gave me a calm place to land and a relaxed start to life here.
莊澤源, student
The accommodation is great, the facilities are brand new, the room has wonderful natural light, and the layout is really well thought out. The shared spaces are fully equipped, and it is a short walk to the Wong Chuk Hang bus and MTR stations. On top of that, Mr. Lee looks after everyone so well, always answering every question, so warm and kind.

I chose Stride because it offers a comfortable and convenient living environment for students. Its location in Wong Chuk Hang is perfect, with the MTR just a short walk away, making commuting to HKU quick and easy. The rooms are modern, clean and fully furnished, while the study areas and shared facilities create a great balance between academic life and relaxation. The friendly staff and welcoming community made settling into Hong Kong much easier. Overall, Stride has truly felt like a home away from home, and I would definitely recommend it to other HKU students looking for quality student accommodation.
Ami, HKU student
Moving to a new country for my Master’s is a big step, so I wanted somewhere that felt safe and welcoming from day one. Stride stood out because it is a student-only building with 24/7 security and facial recognition access, which honestly gives me (and my parents) real peace of mind. As someone who does not know Hong Kong yet, having a built-in community of other students made it feel less daunting. And Wong Chuk Hang itself has this quieter, creative vibe, galleries and cafes, that feels like a good place to actually settle in and focus.
Adip, Master’s student
We found the website the day before and went to the address. I had not managed to book a viewing, but we ran into Joe downstairs and he welcomed our whole family warmly. The building was better than we had imagined, and we had already seen several other student residences. Location is the key thing: a five minute walk to my child’s school. The price is fair too. Joe explained everything from the customer’s point of view, which made us feel, as parents, genuinely reassured about our child living here, so we booked straight away.
刘雨, parent of a resident
I chose Stride not only because it is comfortable and well equipped, but more importantly because it gives us somewhere reassuring and convenient to live outside of study. The atmosphere is warm and the management is thoughtful, so you feel genuinely at ease here. I hope to spend another full and happy year of student life at Stride.
Stride resident
I chose Stride after reading about it and seeing the photos: the environment, the location and the whole feel of the place matched exactly what I was hoping for.
GX, resident
I chose Stride because the facilities match what students actually need: 24-hour management, a laundry room and a gym. The rooms are well soundproofed, which helps me concentrate on studying. The management team responds to repairs and problems at a reasonable speed, the contract terms are clear with no hidden charges, and the check-in and check-out processes are well defined.
